This article brings reflections that were deepened in a research on lesbian teachers in Basic Education. In general, the question is: what are the different meanings of being a lesbian teacher in Basic Education, in view of the taboo that this still represents in the school environment and the needs for an education of respect for diversity ? This consideration is fundamental, especially in the present moment in our country, when this legitimate construction of existence is under attack.
In addition, it questions whether and how this issue is addressed in the teacher training itself, with the visibility or invisibility built by these teachers always pedagogical, helps to build a series of knowledge and impressions about sexual diversity.
